Nonprofits offer opportunities both financial and educational

By Arin McKenna

"... One of the most popular booths is HawkQuest, a Colorado organization devoted to educating the public about predator birds, biodiversity and the raptors' place in our ecosystems. Here you can experience hawks, owls, eagles and falcons at close range. If the Department of Fish and Wildlife has determined that the birds cannot go back to the wild, they're given a home for the rest of their lives and trained to help educate people. Seeing those majestic birds close up inspires people of all ages to learn more about them and become advocates for them. Opening ceremonies at Indian Market include the blessing of Eagle with one of HawkQuest's American Bald Eagles."
