HAWKQUEST AT THE OPENING CEREMONY
OF THE 83rd ANNUAL INDIAN MARKET
SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO

Wes Pope / The New Mexican

Edna Sloan of HawkQuest shows an American Bald Eagle to a Plaza crowd early Saturday during opening events for the 83rd annual Indian Market, which continues today. The bird, a 5-year-old female, was abandoned at birth after its father was killed by a poacher near Sequim, Washington.
